Getting started
How do I get an account?
Sign up at app.journima.com/signup. Every new workspace starts on a 14-day Business trial.
What is the fastest way to a first map?
New map, pick the Basic customer journey template, rename the stages, and add a pain point lane. Ten minutes, honestly.
Can I import an existing map?
Yes, from Excel or CSV. Columns become stages; rows become lanes. Cells become cards.
Editing
Did my change save?
The status in the top bar reads Saved when it has. Edits are queued and sent in order; if the connection drops, the queue waits and retries.
Two of us edited the same card. What happens?
Journima detects the version conflict, refetches the latest card and shows you the current content instead of overwriting it.
How do I restore an older version?
Open the Versions panel, pick a snapshot and choose Restore. The current state is snapshotted first, so nothing is lost.
What keyboard shortcuts exist?
N for a new card, arrows to move between cells, Enter to edit, Escape to leave, Cmd or Ctrl plus Z to undo. Press ? in the editor for the full list.
Personas, tags and views
How many personas can a card carry?
Up to twelve chips per card. The library itself has no limit.
Why do filtered cards dim instead of disappearing?
Context matters in a journey. Dimming keeps the shape of the map while highlighting what matches.
Can I share a filtered view?
Save it as a named view and copy the link. Anyone with access to the map opens it with the same filters applied.
Portfolio and metrics
Where do PAT and OPP keys come from?
Every portfolio item gets a key when created, from the prefix of its type and the next number. Keys are unique per workspace and never reused. A portfolio lane puts keyed items on a map. Cards in a pain and opportunity lane have no key.
How often do Google Sheets metrics refresh?
Once a day, before the European working day starts. The last sync time shows on each tile.
How often do Jira issues refresh?
Once a day, before the European working day starts, and whenever you press Refresh on an item. The last sync time shows on the item. Jira sync is part of the Business plan.
Can I export the portfolio?
Yes, to CSV, with keys, types, statuses, scores and linked maps.
Sharing and export
How do share links work?
A link carries a hashed secret. You can require a password and set an expiry date. The public viewer is read-only and needs no account.
What formats can I export?
Vector PDF and 2x PNG for maps, CSV for the portfolio. Exports render server-side so they match what you see.
Billing and data
How are editors counted?
Anyone with editor, admin or owner role. Viewers are free. See pricing.
Where is my data stored?
In the European Union, on Hetzner in Germany and Finland. Details on the trust center.
How do I delete a workspace?
Owners can delete a workspace from settings. Its records are deleted immediately, stored files are cleared afterwards, and backups expire within six months at the latest.
